The Under 7’s were beaten 6-0 by Victoria Colts

 

The Under 8’s had a good 2-1 win over Wallasey Wanderers with Lee Keogh & Luke Hyland scoring.

 

The Under 9’s had a great game ending up with a 4-3 victory over the Rakers. After leading early through Matt Sutton we found ourselves 2-1 down at half time however a Matt Sutton second after a great run by James Cotgrave pulled us level and then a great strike from James Cotgrave gave us the lead soon after. Matt completed his hatrick with a fantastic free kick to put us 4-2 up before a late consolation goal.

 

The Under 10’s had an unbelievable game that didn’t reflect the score line with a 3-1 defeat to shafts. Somehow we fell 3-0 down at half time and we had three chances cleared off the line. Second half we had all of the ball and pulled one back through Matt Cubbin. Kieran Clegg kept us in the game with a fantastic save and then William parry hit the post. A great effort by everyone. Matt Cubbin received man of the match.

 

 

Girls

 

Under 12 Rangers lost out narrowly 2-0 to Oxton Ladies
 
Under 12s lost 6-1 to Manor
 
Under 14s  won 2-0 against New Brighton Saints to stay top in a tight league
 
Under 16s also won 6-1 against Greenleas to remain well clear at the top of the table

 

Boys

 

The Under 11’s had no game

 

The Under 12’s had no game

The Under 13’s were beaten 5-1 by Peninsula Stars in the Cheshire Cup with Waiz Stephens scoring

 

The Under 14’s had no game

 

The Under 15?s had a superb 1-1 draw with high flying Wirral Scorpions despite only having 10 players a superb effort from the team,  Mike Cooper scored and Tom Wilson was named Man of the Match 

 

Youth Teams

 

The Under 17’s put up a great performance losing 4-1 to an Open Age adult side in the Cup taking the lead through Scott Billington before losing out.

 

The Under 18’s made it 2 in 2 beating Neston Nomads 3-2 with a Jack Maher double helping grab the points 

 

 

Adult

 

The Open Age saw their recent run of victories come to an end with a 1-0 defeat to Poulton Vics in the cup.

The Under 7’s followed up their first win with a goal feast as they beat Oxton Ladies 12-1

 

The Under 8’s had a bad day at the office as they lost 5-0 to Manor

 

The Under 9’s went down to a 4-0 defeat against Wallasey Wanderers

 

The Under 10’s also lost 3-0 to New Brighton Saints Rovers with Mathew Cubbin Man of Match

 

 

Girls

 

Under 12 Rangers had a great 3-1 win against New Brighton Saints
 
Under 12s had no game
 
Under 14s  won 5-0 against Oxton Ladies to remain top of the table
 
Under 16s also won 5-0 against Heygarth to remain well clear at the top of the table

 

Boys

 

The Under 11’s had a great win against top of the table Glenavon Hawks, winning 3-1.  Goal scorers included T. Carrington (1), L Pitt (1) and Alex Clarke (1) who was awarded Man of the Match.

 

The Under 12’s continued their winning ways with a 4-0 against Wallasey Wanderers Hurricanes. Goal scorers were K. Platt (1), R. King (1) Connor Jones who netted 2 and was named Man of the Match.

The Under 13’s won 4-2 against Manor Club.  Man of the Match Waiz Stephen scored two and  J. Woods netted the other two.

 

The Under 14’s were in cup action this week and picked up their first win 2-1 against Allport Hawks.

The Under 15?s won 3-1 at home to Wirral Rangers.  Goals were scored by Johnny Turk (1) and Luke Somers (2).  Mike Cooper was named Man of the Match 

 

Youth Teams

 

The Under 17’s drew 1-1 with Victoria Colts thanks to a George Thomson goal and remain top of the league.

 

The Under 18’s were in Youth Cup action and came from 2 goals down to beat Beechwood 4-2 .

 

 

Adult

 

The Open Age had a great win beating the Clarence 2-1 in the cup to make it 3 wins on the run.

The Under 7’s got their first win with a fantastic 3-1 victory against Birkenhead Youth

 

The Under 8’s also had a 3-1 win against Glenavon to continue their good form

 

The Under 9’s had a great 2-1 win over Greasby JFC. A great individual goal and then a great team goal from  James Cotgrave put us 2-0 up. We held on in the final minutes for a third win of the season. Charlie Robinson well deserved man of the match with a solid performance at the back

 

The Under 10’s Suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat to Manor Wolves. A poor first half but much better second half with a good team goal scored by Luke O’keefe and some great saves earned Kieran Clegg man of the match

The Under 11’s were back in action this week, losing 2-0 to Wallasey Wanderers.  Alex Clarke was awarded Man of the Match.

 

The Under 12’s had a great win, 6-2 against New Brighton Saints. Goal scorers were Reece Pirie (1), T. Brier (1) and Man of the Match Connor Jones who netted 4.   

 

The Under 13’s went down 3-1 to The Rakers.  Man of the Match was Ally Hughes with Lewis Unsworth scoring a consolation goal.

 

The Under 14’s lost 8-1 at home to Victoria Colts.  J. Smith scored Upton’s goal with Lewis Harrison named Man of the Match.

 

The Under 15?s lost 6-2 at Ryecroft against Peninsular Stars.  Goals were scored Louis McAdam and Mike Cooper who was also named Man of the Match

 

Youth Teams

 

The Under 17’s had no game

 

The Under 18’s were in District Cup action against Eastham Rangers and after drawing 2-2 went on to win the game on penalties.

 

 

Adult

 

The Open Age had a great win beating second placed Rockpark 3-1 to move up the table themselves.

Under 14s  had a comfortable 5-1 win against Rakers Belles to remain joint top
 
Under 16s had a good 8-0 win against Irby to go clear at the top of the league

 

Boys

 

The Under 12’s continued their winning ways with an 8-0 win against Manor Rhinos. Man of the Match was Reece Pirie who scored one of the goals.  Other scorers included Connor Jones (2), J. Farrell (2), L. Heath (1), David Thomas (1) with Manor scoring an own goal as they remain top of the league.. 

 

The Under 13’s were back in league action this week and went down 4-1 to Peninsular Stars.  Kyle Walsh scored a consolation goal and Ally Hughes was named Man of the Match.

 

The Under 14’s were narrowly beaten 1-0 away at Wallasey Wanderers.  Aaron Finlay picked up the Man of the Match award.

The Under 15?s were also back in league action this week and won 4-0 against Oldershaw at Upton Park.  Goals were scored by Luke Atkinson, Harry Waterman, Dan Cardus and Louis McAdam.  Man of the Match was Mike Cooper. 

 

Youth Teams

 

The Under 17’s beat Beechwood 3-1 to stay top of the league with 2 goals from Callum Mernock and 1 from  Morgan Woods.

 

The Under 18’s lost 4-0 to Ashville

The Under 7’s failed to score for the first time as they went down 3-0 to Greenleas

 

The Under 8’s had a great win beating Beechwood 3-1 with 2 goals from James Redmond and 1 from Lee Keogh.

 

The Under 9’s lost 4-1 to Glenavon Hawks

 

The Under 10’s went down 6-0 to Birkenhead YC with Matty Cubbin man of match

 

 

Girls

 

Under 12 Rangers earned another point with a 1 – 1 draw against Oxton Girls. Mia Donaldson scored, and Tessie Nickson was player of the match
 
Under 12s only had 6 players against unbeaten New Ferry Rangers, and despite putting in a great effort, ended up losing 8 – 0. Natasha Kurthausen was player of the match.
 
Under 14s  have had an excellent start to the season and took their 100% record to Manor Torpedoes. Upton were two up early on through two Olivia Radford strikes, but Manor drew level by half time, and went on to win 4 – 2. There are now three teams on 9 points after 4 games, and this looks the closest division in the league. Anna Pippard was player of the match.
 
Under 16s travelled to Irby without captain Jodie Williams, and came out 3 – 1 winners despite not playing as well as they can. Leah McNay and Isabel Nolan scored in the first half before Irby pulled one back early in the second half with a speculative strike from distance. After weathering a bit of pressure from the home team, Katie Murray scrambled home a third to keep Upton’s 100% start to the season. Leah McNay was player of the match

 

Boys

 

The Under 11’s drew 3-3 with Prenton Town at the Delph.  Man of the Match was Tom Carrington who scored two goals with Alex Clarke netting the third.

 

The Under 12’s recorded a brilliant 9-0 win against Greenleas. Connor Jones was Man of the Match and scored four of the goals.  Also on the scoresheet were L. Heath (2), R. King (1), K Platt (1) and David Thomas (1). 

 

The Under 13’s were in Cheshire Cup action this week against Princess Villa winning 5-3 with goals from Jamie Woods (2), Luke Malone (2) and Lewis Unsworth (1).

 

The Under 14’s lost heavily away at Ryecroft to Peninsula Stars.  Will Hellon picked up the Man of the Match award.

 

The Under 15?s were also in Cheshire Cup action this week against AC Hoylake.  The boys played well, but went down 5-1 in the end.  Man of the Match Harry Waterman scored Upton’s only goal

 

Youth Teams

 

The Under 17’s were in Cheshire Cup action in Northwich and after coming back from 3-1 down to level at 3-3 they were beaten on penalties, goals from Callum Mernock, Morgan Woods & Joe Murray

 

The Under 18’s had no game

 

 

Adult

 

The Open Age had a 2-1 win against AM Plant Hire.
