Under 10s  got off to a great start in the Knockout Cup, beating New Brighton Saints 2 – 0 in pretty poor weather conditions at Overchurch. This result again showed the continuing improvement in the team, as they reversed a league defeat earlier in the season. Goals came from Emily Cardus and Ellie Johns, whilst Erin Mooney was player of the match.

Under 12s were due to play Wirral Rangers but the opposition rang at 10am to say the pitch was waterlogged

Under 12 Rangers played a strong Birkenhead Ladies team and again showed great determination, tiring in the heavy conditions to end up losing 6 – 2. Goals were scored by Elizabeth Morgan and player of the match Anna Pippard.

Under 14s, second in the division, were nevertheless unable to make any impression on league leaders Manor. Although a Leah McNay goal shortly before half time gave some hope at 3 – 1 down, Manor scored again early in the second half and ran out 8 – 1 winners. Leah McNay was player of the match.  A win against Greenleas in our last league match will secure second position, and hopefully we can put a good cup run in.

Under 16s were due to play Birkenhead Ladies in the Knockout Cup, in a game that had already been cancelled once because the opposition could not field a team. Unfortunately, Birkenhead could not field a team again, and we await the league’s decision on the tie
